Holiday Transfer firm unveils consumer site - TTG - 16 Nov 2003

Holiday Taxis.com, the Mediterranean airport taxi operation, has launched a consumer version of it's website in partnership with direct booking channels including Teletext.

The venture formerly worked only with the trade. Spokesman Steve Endacott, the former deputy chief operating officer of MyTravel, said the company was keen to sign deals with other major web players. He claimed that HolidayTaxis.com now has a presence in every major beach resort in the Mediterranean, and is being used by 1,000 passengers - or 300 cars - a day.

Mr Endacott said the service would soon be extended to the ski resorts and major US cites

HolidayTaxis operates vehicles ranging from small cars to minibuses and limousines, with prices from £7 to £80.

Mr Endacott said, "It is often cheaper to buy a taxi and it can take half the time of a coach, which has to do at least six drop-offs". HolidayTaxis was due to be at the ABTA Convention.
