World Cup transfer requests - Travel Trade Gazette - 26 May 2006
Agents with clients heading for the World Cup next month can book Holiday taxis private transfers between German airports and hotels.
Managing director Paul Stanyer said: "Although the German transport system is good, people often like to do their own thing and it becomes cheap if groups of 10 or more people travel together."
The site, www.worldcuptaxis.com, offers transfers in taxis, minibuses or limousines from airports in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich and Nuremburg.
Holiday Taxis plans to use the site to offer similar services during next year's Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean and Rugby World Cup in France.
Another new feature of Holiday Taxis' online service is private transfers to and from all UK airports. "We can provide private transfers from anywhere in the UK to any airport," said Stanyer.
"Agents are used to arranging transfers for clients when they reach their holiday destinations. Now they can complete the service by offering transfers from their homes to their departure airports and back home when they return."
The Holiday Taxis private transfer service has also been extended to eastern Europe. Taxis can be booked at four airports in Poland – Krakow, Lodz, Rzeszow and Warsaw – as well as Dubrovnik, Klagenfurt, Krk, Ljublijana, Pula, Split, Trieste, Zadar and Zagreb.
And in the tie-up with Holidaybreak, Holiday Taxis now offers transfers from airports in France, Spain, Italy, Austria and Switzerland to camps operated by Keycamp and Eurocamp.
