What to do in Kanoni

As Kanoni is so close to Corfu Town and Perama, this makes it the perfect city to have a day trip to, if you’re not staying within the city itself. The Kanoni Causeway connects the city to Perama and is a great location to plane spot the flights arriving at and departing Corfu Airport.

Within the city itself is the Mon Repos Estate, which has hosted the Museum of Palaiopolis since 2001, and is a former summer residence for royals. This beautiful estate is located on Analipsis Hill in the forest of Palaeopolis. Another historical feature of the city is the remains of a temple of Athena.

There are also beaches along the coastline such as Mon Repos Beach, which also has a dock to walk down, and is far enough out of the way that it is a nice quiet beach to relax on.

There are a number of cafes in Kanoni that are worth a visit during your trip to the city. One famous one is Café Kanoni along the southern edge of the city, which overlooks the Monastary of Vlacherna as well as the surrounding nature. A couple other cafes and bars include the Acapella café bar, Brachera beach bar-restaurant, and Craving Corfu.
