Why visit Torremolinos

Torremolinos is a favourite destination on the Costa del Sol, loved by families, couples and young holidaymakers thanks to its large beaches, lively nightlife and variety of attractions. It also has a good-sized British population, with plenty of pubs and bars serving pints, roasts and a tasty fry up breakfasts.

Things to do

Torremolinos offers up a wealth of things to see and do, whether it’s sightseeing in the historic quarter, shopping, day trips to Malaga or explore the surroundings - there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The main shopping street is Calle San Miguel where you can find souvenirs and gifts to bring home with you, as well as cafes and ice cream parlours when you want to rest your feet.

If you are visiting during September, be sure not to miss the Festival of San Miguel, the patron saint of Torremolinos, when there is a week-long celebration of parades and fairground rides.

Resort Beaches

The main attraction in Torremolinos is the 9 kilometre-long Playa La Carihuela beach, located right next to the centre of town. Fully equipped with all the beach facilities you could need, including sun loungers and watersports hire, it’s a pretty stretch of Blue Flag sand lined with palm trees and an animated promenade.

Torremolinos has a good reputation for its lively nightlife and offers a more varied night out than many of the other resorts along the Costa del Sol. Live entertainment, rock nights and cultural events rub shoulders with bars and beach clubs. One of the best places for beer is La Cervezateca, where you’ll find more than 100 beers on sale, or you can go to Brit-owned La Mojito for a taste of home and some late night karaoke!

Eating out

For the freshest fish dishes, head to the harbour where you can feast on the catch of the day at any of the restaurants located along the waterfront. Beach bars here specialise in barbecued sardines, a tasty treat, but seafood is another great options. Top restaurants in Torremolinos include Restaurante Avenida, which is popular for its paella, and Lanjaron for its tapas dishes.
