Things to see and do in Mayrhofen

Whatever time of year you decide to visit Mayrhofen, you’ll find plenty of things to do and see waiting for you. If it’s a relaxing holiday you’re looking for, spend an afternoon at the Swimming, Wellness and Spa in Mayrhofen Hippach, where you’ll find an indoor pool and sauna facilities. If you’re enjoying a family holiday, why not visit the dairy farm, where kids can see the goats, sheep and cows or have a fun tractor ride. Looking for the best in apres-ski? Time your visit to coincide with Snowbombing Festival. This snowsports and music festival attracts some of the biggest names in music, and it’s the perfect occasion to have fun on the slopes.

Winter activities

Skiing and snowboarding are the stars of the show at Mayrhofen. More than 130 km of slopes await, most of which come with the promise of artificial snow if you’re unlucky enough to miss the real thing. So with a guaranteed chance of snow, you can make the most of your time in the mountains. If you’re looking for something different to do for the day, other activities include ice-skating, cross-country skiing, winter walking and sledding.

Summer activities

Hiking and biking are the two main summer sports, with hundreds of trails just waiting to be explored in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park. Hikers can discover the local wildlife and flowers, while mountain bikers can zip around a varied choice of trails. Other ways to see the alpine landscapes include outdoor climbing, via ferrata, running, paragliding and nordic walking. You can even enjoy a round of golf at the 18 hole Golfplatz Zillertal golf course.

When to go

Mayrhofen is decidedly busiest during the winter season, meaning lower prices during the summer and fewer tourists. June to August offers pleasantly warm temperatures ideal for walking.

March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
