Why visit Arenal d’en Castell?

Arenal d’en Castell is a small resort with a few bars and restaurants surrounded by pretty woodlands, cliffs and a lovely Blue Flag beach. Here you can find lots of family-friendly facilities, such as an on-duty lifeguard and a play park, and some diving for the more adventurous. It’s the ideal location for a quieter, more relaxing holiday in a beautiful location.

When to go

The best time to go to Arenal d’en Castell is during the summer months when the weather is hottest and driest. During July and August, temperatures range around 30°C and the whole island usually gets 11 hours of sunshine a day. If you prefer slightly cooler weather, however, Menorca is a great year-round destination.

Things to do

At Arenal d’en Castell beach visitors can enjoy a range of watersports including kayaking, pedalo rides and scuba diving down at the hollow reef. Not too far from the beach are some tennis courts and Menorca’s only 18-hole golf course. For something a little more adventurous, try a climb of Mount Toro, the island’s highest peak, which is just a short hour’s hike up a winding path.

Top Restaurants

For traditional Italian-style pizza look no further than Venecia, which has a late night bar upstairs for those looking to stay out a bit later. El Pirata is a great family-oriented place where you can get the best sangria in town and some fantastic seafood and tapas. Or, for a taste of home, try Smithy’s gastropub where you can sit on the outdoor terrace and enjoy some pub favourites.
