Things to do

Playa de las Americas is well known as a hub of activity, one of the most vibrant and popular spots in the south of Tenerife to enjoy a lively, fun holiday in the sun! It’s a popular choice for a family beach holiday or a relaxing getaway in the sun.

The nearby, man-made beaches (with blue flag status) are all within walking distance of the resort and there are lots of local bars where you can try the tapas and unwind with a refreshing cocktail. In the evening you can dance the night away at Crystals Palace, Tramps The King of Clubs and The Anchor Bar, or take in a concert at the Music Hall Tavern or Piramide de Arona.

Opportunities for outdoor activities abound on this stunning island. Take up diving at the Aqua Marina Dive Centre, rent a bike and explore the rugged terrain or practice your swing at Golf Las Americas. There are plenty of organised tours to choose from as well, including the Tenerife Full Island Tour, tours of the Teide Observatory and Teide National Park by night and gastronomic tours for all the foodies out there.

Top Restaurants

The resort has a huge range of bars and restaurants to choose from, and there are Canarian, International and vegetarian options available. El Molino Blanco is a popular spot with a pretty garden terrace and specialises in hearty meat dishes.

Deborath Restaurant offers one of the best views of the sea with a varied menu of pizzas, steak and grilled fish that go down well with the crowd. For some tasty Spanish food, try Montana. They have a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu and the food is always good value for money.

When to go

The hottest time of the year in Tenerife is during the summer months, when temperatures can soar to the 30s. The island is a great place to visit throughout the year, however, and is a popular winter sun destination when daily averages of 20 degrees are common.
