What to expect when you arrive at Rhodes Airport

One of our professional and helpful drivers will be waiting for you in Arrivals, holding a sign with your name on it, ready to drive you directly to your hotel.

Where is Rhodes Airport?

Rhodes International Airport (RHO), or Diagoras International Airport, is located 14 km southwest of the capital city and just to the north of a village called Paradisi, on the west side of the island.

What is Rhodes Airport like?

The airport is the fourth busiest in Greece but is still quite a small airport. Passengers will find services including ATMs, a bank, a bureau de change, a bar, café and restaurant, duty-free shopping and luggage lockers.

What’s Rhodes like?

Set in the idyllic Aegean sea, Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese island complex. With a hilly and low mountainous landscape, and a profusion of forests, Rhodes also beasts a subtropical climate and westerly winds that take the edge off the summer heat. It’s also known for its gorgeous beaches, a lively nightlife and superb food. Even the winters are bathed in sunshine, making it easy to understand why the largest, and most beautiful, of the Greek islands, is so popular with holidaymakers.

The cosmopolitan city of Rhodes blends its medieval heritage with the modern aspects of a highly developed tourist infrastructure, making it worth a day trip at least if you’re staying elsewhere. Explore the winding streets of Rhodes old town, visit the Temple of Apollo for a fascinating lesson in Malta’s history, or simply head to the beach at the resorts of Theologos, Faliraki or Lindos to soak up the sun.

Popular resorts:

  • Rhodes Port
  • Pefkos
  • Lindos
  • Ixia
  • Kolymbia
  • Kiotari
  • Lardos
  • Faliraki
  • Kalithia

Easy to find desk in airport and transfer sorted immediately. Taxi was early waiting for us on our return to the airport from hotel. Professional driver and comfy mercedes car. No waiting for other passengers plus direct to the door. Obviously more pricey than coach transport but worth the extra money when you just want to get there!
