Why visit Fuengirola?

Fuengirola has grown from a fishing village into one of the Costa del Sol’s main attractions. It boasts tourist-friendly restaurants, excellent facilities, a buzzing atmosphere and plenty of shops. The town has retained some of its traditional charms, with a Moorish castle and beautiful squares packed with tasty tapas bars and boutiques. Add to that its fantastic beach, and you have a resort which is bound to please everyone.

Things to do in Fuengirola

Fuengirola’s main attraction is the selection of winning Blue Flag beaches; eight in total. Alongside sunbathing, swimming, playing beach sports or trying numerous watersports, pass the time relaxing at one of the beach bars (chiringuitos) with drinks and tapas.

Go sightseeing up at Sohail Castle, the resorts’ top attraction to visit, with fantastic views over the town and ocean. Saturday is market day, so don’t forget to stop by at the Feria Flea Market in Los Boliches where you can browse over 500 stalls. If you want to explore a little further then try Granada, which is only a two-hour drive away, and ideal for a day trip. Come evening, Fuengirola is the place to be, with its energetic nightlife and numerous buzzing bars and clubs; plenty to entertain visitors.

Popular restaurants

Fish is the speciality around here, and one of the most popular places to eat it is at the many beach bars; we recommend trying the traditional grilled sardines, cooked over an open fire. Calle Moncayo, also known as Fish Alley, is a top spot for seafood dishes such as paella and langoustine. Al Marmita is one of the town’s top places, specialising in fresh Mediterranean cuisine at reasonable prices.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
