Why visit Paleokastritsa?

Paleokastritsa is considered to be one of the best places on Corfu Island to snorkel and dive. This is because of the clear sea water and numerous rocky coves. There are also a number of different beaches and fun activities in the area that makes this a great holiday spot for families.

What to do in Paleokastritsa

As Paleokastritsa is known for the snorkelling and diving in the area, there are several beaches that are worth a visit while in the city. These include Paleokastritsa beach, Rovina beach, La Grotta beach, Limni beach, Agios Petros beach, Ampelaki beach, Verderosa beach, and Agios Spiridon beach. There are also caves in the region that are available to visit such as Blue-Eye cave and Nausika’s cave.

If you would rather view the sea-life above land instead of in the water, Paleokastritsa is home to the Corfu Aquarium where you can discover a wide array of Mediterranean Sea-life. There is also a reptile house past the fish tanks which features internationally known reptiles and amphibians.

The city also has interesting historic sites like the Paleokastritsa Monastery and the Chapel of Agios Georgios. The Monastary is located on the top of a hill that overlooks the beach of Paleokastritsa offering stunning views of the coast, as well as a museum within the building. The Chapel is on the summit of Lykavittos Hill and is accessible via a hiking trail that starts at the bottom of the hill.

Only 6 km north-east of Paleokastritsa is the Corfu Donkey Rescue in Doukades, where over 450 donkeys have been taken in. This is a great activity for families as the donkeys are available to be pet and brushed. Additionally, there are a number of dogs and cats at the sanctuary as well.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
