Munich International Airport (MUC), also known as Franz Josef Strauss International Airport, is situated 17 miles northeast of the centre of Munich. Munich airport is the main gateway to the city and serves Bavaria and the South of Germany.

What is near Munich Airport?

If you're looking for things to do near the airport, then visit the lovely Bavarian town of Freising with its Weihenstephan Brewery (less than 10 km away). Just 20 minutes away, is the district of Oberschleissheim which is home to three castles, a park and the Flugwerft Schleissheim aviation museum. Or only 16 km north of the airport, Therme Erding (the largest thermal bath park in Europe) offers visitors pools, saunas and sixteen water slides.
