Things to see and do in Rome City Centre

Rome is one of the most fascinating cities in the world, full of history and culture, so there are plenty of things to discover and sights to see. Right at the top of the list is the Colosseum. Designed to hold 80,000 spectators, all come to watch gladiator tournaments and games, it is the largest amphitheatre ever built. Another of Rome’s most famous attractions is the Pantheon, one of the best preserved Roman buildings in the world.

While you’re here, why not visit the smallest country in the world: Vatican City. See the iconic St Peter’s Square, where many important events have taken place, as well as the museum complex, where you can see the beautiful ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Best restaurants

Be.Re is located just near the Vatican museums, perfect for hungry sightseers, and offers Italian craft beers on tap and tasty trapizinni - sourdough bread stuffed with typical local dishes. Armando al Pantheon is one of the city’s best-known restaurants and has been in the same family since it opened. It’s also located just next to the Pantheon. For very affordable meals, even in the city centre, try Cesare al Casaletto by Villa Pamphilj public park.

Nightlife

Rome has plenty of cafes and wine bars for anyone looking for a classy night out. However, if you’re looking for a big night out, the Testaccio and Ostiense districts are home to most of the city’s nightclubs.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
