Things to do in Kuta

Kuta is the heart of much of Bali’s tourism, attracting backpackers, students, holidaymakers looking for fun and sun and beach lovers looking for surf. There are lots of things to see and do during your stay here, from shopping to outdoor activities and nightlife.

Indulge in some retail therapy along Beachwalk street, where you’ll find a new mall with a mix of international shops, as well as cafes and restaurants. The resort town is filled with shops selling beach and surf gear, such as Surfer Girl, souvenirs and crafts. You won’t have to go far to catch some waves either, Kuta Beach is the perfect spot for beginners thanks its soft sand. There are plenty of rental shops and schools around the beach, or you can borrow a body board for some easy fun. You can also practice your skills at the Armada Flow House.

Nearby Legian Beach is a quieter strip of sand, within easy walking distance of Kuta, where you can enjoy some sunbathing, swimming or snorkelling. It’s also a great spot for cocktails and music, such as at the Bali Beach Shack. There are a whole host of venues to discover in the evening, from large nightclubs like Sky Garden Lounge and the Engine Room, to themed venues like the Bounty Nightclub and the Apache Reggae Bar.

Top attractions

Whether you’re visiting with family or just looking for a fun day out, Waterbom Bali is one of the most popular attractions and also one of the biggest waterparks in Bali. Great facilities, including cafes and smaller pools, make it ideal for younger children, while adults and kids alike will love the rides and waterslides.

Take in some Balinese culture during your stay with a visit to Vihara Dharmayana, known also as both the Leeng Gwan Kuta Temple or Kongco Bio Kuta Chinese Temple. This Buddhist temple is over 200 years old and is a fascinating place to explore. You can also take in a theatre performance at the Kuta Theatre, which offers dinner and show packages for adults and puppet shows and magicians for the kids.

Finally, get up close to some of Kuta’s animal residents with a visit to the Bali Sea Turtle Society. This hatchery is a conservation organisation that helps protect and release baby turtles into the wild.

Best restaurants

There are a wide range of eateries serving international and local cuisine. For an authentic taste of Bali, try Warung Murah, where you can expect budget prices and tasty Indonesian food. Pisgor is a great option if you’re looking for somewhere to eat near the airport, while Poppies Restaurant offers a more refined setting with a mix of Thai, Balinese and Western cuisine. If you fancy some Asian food while you’re here, then Take is a top spot for very fresh sushi and Japanese dishes.

March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
