Where is Princess Juliana St Maarten Airport?

Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) is located on the Dutch side of the island of Saint Maarten (Sint Martin), on the southwestern coast. It is the main airport serving the Caribbean island. The airport also sits just behind Maho Beach, and sunbathers on the beach can get fantastic views of the planes flying in to land.

What to do in St Maarten

This half French, half Dutch island in the Caribbean is a vibrant holiday destination popular with beach lovers and shoppers. It’s also a popular destination for cruise ships that dock into Marigot and Philipsburg harbours.

The best of St Maarten’s beaches include Mullet Bay, with its white sands, and Orient Bay, often considered to be one of the best beaches in the world. A boat trip from beautiful beaches of Cul-de-Sac and Orient will take you to nearby Tintamarre Island. For the best views of the coast, walk up to Fort Louis, which overlooks Marigot Bay or hike to the summit of Pic Paradis.

Here you’ll find some of the best views on the island, looking down over sparkling beaches of Orient Bay, as well as Loterie Farm which offers a great day out for the whole family. Expect gardens, a range of eateries, ziplines and rope bridges.

There are plenty of other activities available, from sailing and jet skiing to wildlife spotting. You’ll find a wide array of native species at the St. Maarten Zoo, such as monkeys and capybara, and a whole host of colourful insects at the Butterfly Farm.

Indulge in some retails therapy at the colourful bazaar on the Philipsburg promenade, or hit the shops on Old Street. Don’t forget to try some of the local liquor, the island’s very own take on Caribbean rum, at the Sint Maarten Guavaberry Company.

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
