When to go to Nepal

The best time to see the wildlife and to trek in the mountains is from April until early June, in October and November. Two of the most popular festivals, Dasain and Tihaar, are also between October and November. Temperatures are very low between December and February.

Travel safety advice

Road conditions are poor during the rainy season and in the mountain areas.
Buses are often overcrowded and the night buses might be dangerous. Use tourist buses if possible as they should offer more comfort.
UK driving licence holders aren’t eligible to drive, you need to have a Nepali driving licence or an IDP to be able to drive.
