What to do in Zanzibar

Zanzibar Island is a jewel in the ocean, surrounded by beaches that rate among the finest in the world. Here you can swim, snorkel or lounge the hours away, while shoals of luminous fish graze over nearby coral gardens and pods of dolphins frolic offshore.

If you’re not staying in Stone Town, take a day to explore this fascinating area. You can enjoy some of the local food at the Forodhani market or do some sightseeing. Highlights include the Palace Museum, also known as the Sultan’s Palace, the House of Wonders, where you can learn about Zanzibari and Swahili culture, and the 17th century Old Fort.

Zanzibar has some fantastic beaches, but if you’re looking for somewhere to relax without all the tourists, Nungwi beach is your best bet. Get back to nature with a tour of Jozani Forest, an exciting swamp area with incredible native trees and ferns. Other popular tours and excursions include a boat trip to Prison Island and a Spice Tour, where you can learn about the country’s spice trade and explore the markets.

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
