Things to see and do in Arta

Artà is the perfect destination for anyone looking to discover an authentic side of Majorca, without all the tourist attractions and development. The town is dominated by a large hill from where the Sanctuary of San Salvador can be seen. A fortress wall and nine watchtowers surround it and visitors can access it via steps or a scenic road up to the top.

You can discover more of the town’s history at the Regional Museum of Arta or at the Ses Païsses Bronze Age settlement, (which can be found just outside the city). In addition to sightseeing, Arta also has some boutique shops selling traditional crafts, ceramics and textiles, plus there is a weekly Tuesday morning market. Any keen golfers can enjoy the Capdepera Golf and the Club de Golf Son Servera courses, which are just nearby.

Artà is a great place to visit for nature lovers being close to the Llevant Natural Park; where walkers and climbers can enjoy wild trails, hills and beautiful coastal views. The park is also home to the Ermita de Betlem church, built by monks in 1805, with rose windows and a solar clock. Another popular attraction are the Caves d'Artà; filled with stalagmites and stalactites, they can be visited with a guided tour.

Although Arta is inland, there are lovely sandy beaches not too far away; the closest of which can be found at Cala Ratjada, a 15-minute journey by taxi.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
