Gozo is located about 26 miles, or 42 km, from Malta Airport, (which includes the sea crossing needed to arrive on the island). The easiest way to get there is with a pre-booked transfer, including your ferry ticket (from Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal to Gozo Ferry Terminal in Mgarr), from the airport straight to the door of your hotel.

Gozo Island private transfers

When you pre-book an airport taxi to Gozo Island with us, you’ll arrive at your hotel resort in approximately 150 minutes. One of our drivers will be waiting to meet you at Malta airport, ready to drive you to your hotel. If you need to arrange a booking for more people, then why not try our private minibus transfers which will  accommodate up to 8 passengers. If you would like to arrange an even larger size of booking then simply contact our tailor made team with your requirements and they will arrange this.

Things to see and do in Gozo

One of the most beautiful parts of Gozo is Xlendi, a beachside village with picturesque Mediterranean villas and beautiful stretches of sand. Come here for the charming seafront cafes, to explore the grottos along the coast, or to go diving in some of the most spectacular settings you’ll ever come across.

Gozo, and its sister island Malta, is one of the best places in the world for scuba diving, mostly thanks to its choice of sunken wrecks populated by varied and colourful sealife. Back on land, take an exhilarating quad bike tour of the island, which is an easy way to see difficult-to-access parts of Gozo, or alternatively hop-on a bus tour.

Top attractions

Gozo is home to the Ġgantija Megalithic Temple, a fascinating Neolithic structure which predates the Egyptian pyramids. Embark on a tour to discover some of the island’s history, as well as see one of the oldest buildings on earth. Afterwards, take a boat trip over to the Blue Lagoon, one of the best swimming spots on the island, as well as the filming location for the Game of Thrones.

Another way to explore some of the local culture is with a trip to the Ta Dbiegi Crafts Village; here you can see live demonstrations from some of the artists, shop for locally made crafts such as lace and glass, or even take a class yourself.

Best restaurants

Most restaurants will offer a Mediterranean menu, such as Zafiro Restaurant, which also boasts incredible  views out to sea. For light snacks and lunch, try Caffe Cordina, or enjoy a meal at Ta’ Mena Estate, where you can try wine tasting and a vineyard tour.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
