What to do in Malta

The stunning holiday destination of Malta has long been a favourite with holidaymakers from all walks. With beautiful beaches, a rich history and culture, and plenty to amuse adults and children alike, Malta is a real hidden gem set between Italy and north Africa, in the middle of the glistening Mediterranean.

Explore Malta’s capital city, Valletta, with its many shops, restaurants and museums, churches and cathedrals. Head to the clifftop that hosts Malta’s lifesize Popeye film set, or simply soak up the sun on Paradise Bay. Enjoy Malta’s sumptuous local cuisine at St Paul's or St George’s Bay, and watch the world go by with a glass of wine in one of the relaxing bars.

The Islands have a sparkling array of cultural events, such as the Malta Arts Festival, the Valletta Baroque Festival, the Opera Festival, the Choir Festival and the International Jazz Festival, which is held in July. For those who enjoy a lively nightlife, head to Paceville in St Julian's, or the Marsalforn and Victoria regions of Gozo.
