What’s in Krakow Airport?

You can pass some time at the airport browsing the duty-free shops for souvenirs, cosmetics and alcohol products or visit any of the other gift shops selling a selection of amber, clothes, books and jewellery. There are a range of bars, coffee shops and restaurants and passengers also have access to a bank and currency exchange services.

What to do in Krakow

As the second largest city in Poland, Krakow, is Poland's academic, cultural and artistic centre. It is a city filled with stunning architecture, culturally and historically significant buildings, such as Wawel castle, or the massive Rynek medieval market square, and a range of fine art galleries, with a special emphasis on modern art.

Walk along the ‘Royal Route’ (the former coronation path of Polish kings), starting at the Old Town Square, via the Floriańska Gate and you will end up at Wawel Castle where you can admire the city views.

Popular places to visit

For those who would prefer to spend their time in Poland exploring beyond the city, take a trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO world heritage site complete with chapels, underground tunnels and salt lakes. Auschwitz is a short train or bus ride away and a popular day trip for visitors to the city. Entry is free, or you can book a guided tour.

For a breath of fresh air, visit Czorsztyn, where you can spend the day hiking through the gorgeous mountainous countryside. From natural landscapes and cultural sites, to the range of fantastic restaurants, bars and lively city nightlife, Krakow has so much to offer, the only difficulty is trying to fit it all in!
